Mrs. Lois Danicek, age 70, died unexpectedly Saturday, January 19, 2008. She was born February 2, 1937 in Muskegon to Jess and Mary (Shaft) Holey and had been a life resident. Mrs. Danicek was a very active member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. For several years she worked for the Town and Country Grocery Store. She had been an active member of "C.A.P." Community Action against Poverty, active in "Legal Aide", and a member of the "Legal Aide Council." She married Rudy Grega and he preceded her in death in 1985. She married Rudolph "Rudy" Danicek, III and he also preceded her in death. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Mary (David) Poe, Nancy (Kevin) DeNio both of Muskegon, Michelle (Bill) Edwards of Brown City, MI; 8 grandchildren, Dawn (Julius Soper) Riley, Amber Grega, Samantha and Amanda DeNio, Christopher, Brandon, Andrew, and Brianna Edwards; 3 great-grandchildren, Dakota, Savannah, and Paytyn Soper; 2 brothers, Jay (Ronnie) Long, Alfred (Judy) Long; and her twin sister, Lucille Pickard. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Rudolph Grega, Jr., Robert J. Grega; 3 sisters, Avonell Macomber, Irene Murn, Delores Ragsdale; and a special friend, Ray McIlrath. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday at St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Michael Olson presiding. Burial will be in Egelston Twp. Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210 with the Rosary prayed at 6:00 PM. MEMORIALS to Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
