Mr. Lloyd Herman TerBorg, age 79, passed away Wednesday evening, April 9, 2008 at the Poppen Hospice Residence. He was born in Muskegon on May 3, 1928 to Herman and Catherine (Hopma) TerBorg. On November 7, 1952, Lloyd married the former Mary Louise Hundersmarck, and they enjoyed 55 years of marriage together. Lloyd was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a Master Sergeant. While growing up and attending Muskegon High School, Lloyd held the position of 1st chair trumpet all 3 years in attendance. He also enjoyed playing at many local churches with his sister, Marian, during the 1940's. After high school, Lloyd received his BA Degree in Education from Hope College and his Masters Degree from Wayne State University. After college, Lloyd was hired by Muskegon Public Schools where he taught for 32 years before retiring in 1983. He had also served as treasurer for the Muskegon Public Schools Credit Union. Lloyd was a member of the Michigan and National Retired Teachers Associations, the American Legion Post 69 and Lake Harbor United Methodist Church. He and his wife had wintered for 20 years in Las Vegas, NV. They enjoyed traveling and had been to all 50 states, Australia, New Zealand, and many European countries. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Mary Louise; 4 daughters, Dianne (Greg) McCormick of Ft. Wayne, IN, Linda (Matthew) Godden of Middleburry, IN, Ellen (Marco) Bianchi of Cape Coral, FL, and Gayle (Brad) DuPrey of Muskegon; 7 grandchildren, Anne (Chris) Gunby, William (Macy) Cousineau, Kylie (Damon) Ramaker, Jessica Bianchi, Marco Bianchi, Rebecca DuPrey, and Eric DuPrey; 1 great-grandson, Kael Gunby; 1 sister, Marian (George) Toren of St. Paul, MN; and 1 brother-in-law, Robert (Donna) Hundersmarck. He was preceded in death by his parents. A CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE will be held at 11AM Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Lake Harbor United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Erbes officiating. MEMORIALS in Lloyd's name may be made to Lake Harbor UMC.
