Linda Ruth DeCesare

Linda Ruth DeCesare passed away peacefully on her 80th birthday, October 8, 2026, in Muskegon, Michigan.

Born in Leesport, Pennsylvania, on October 8, 1946, Linda worked in public accounting, where coworkers often became friends. They remember her sweetness, her laugh, and how much she loved talking about her daughter. Her passion was always her family.

She followed her daughter Bridgette, son-in-law Joe, and grandson Vinny to Virginia and later to Michigan. For nearly 15 years, they made their home together.

As Nana to Vinny and Camilla, she was woven into everyday life: a playmate, a comfort, someone to talk to, and someone who delighted in spoiling them. They grew up knowing Nana loved them with her whole heart. Riley, the family's goldendoodle, was her faithful sidekick, especially when snacks were involved.

Linda loved reading and crocheting until her eyesight no longer allowed it. Her unfinished crochet projects inspired Camilla to learn, continuing a tradition shared by Linda and her own mother.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Bridgette Zappacosta, and son-in-law, Joe; her beloved grandchildren, Vinny and Camilla; her sister, Lana Deeter; and her brother, Leonard Leibensperger.

Her family will miss her most in the everyday moments, where her love was always present.

A private family interment and a celebration of Linda's life are being planned in Pennsylvania. Details will be shared when arrangements are finalized.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritas at samaritas.org/donate to support its work walking alongside children and families, in honor of the love and steady presence Linda brought to her own family.
