Lillian M. Carr

Our beloved mother and grandmother went to be with our Lord Tuesday morning, August 26, at Seminole Shores Assisted Living Center. Mrs. Lillian M. Carr was born March 12, 1911 to Irving and Minnie (Stanton) Ketchpaw in Lamont, MI. In July of 1930 she married Marlin "Jack" Baker in Grand Rapids and he preceded her in death in 1960. She then married Frederick R. Carr in 1972 and he passed away in 1989. Lillian was employed as a bookkeeper for Muskegon Bank and Trust for 10 years, retiring in 1969. Lillian was a longtime member of Crestwood United Methodist Church. She was also involved in the YMCA Therapeutic Swim Program for many years. She is survived by her son, Kent Baker of Newaygo; her daughter, Ruth Annette (James ) Fox of Muskegon; daughter-in-law, Shirley Baker Kison; 8 grandchildren, Mark (Lori) Baker, Steven (Barb) Baker, Greg (Gayle) Baker, Shellie (Ken) Shady, Barbara (John) Cotie, Linda (Dan) Cwynar, James A. (Mary) Fox and Marlin (Renee) Baker; 18 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Also preceding her in death are her parents; her son, J. Raymond Baker; 3 brothers and a sister. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 29, 2008 at Crestwood United Methodist Church (1220 Creston Ave.) with Pastor Dale Hoteling officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Harbor Hospice.
