THOMAS, MR. LEWIS PENN Norton Shores Mr. Lewis Penn Thomas, age 84, died Tuesday, October 18, 2005. He was born in Oak Park, IL on December 12, 1920 to Clifford P. & Evelyn Altemus Thomas. Mr. Thomas graduated from Riverside Brookfield High School in Riverside, IL & graduated from San Diego State Jr. College with an Associates Degree. He married the former Ruth Maryette Langdon on April 24, 1947 in San Diego, CA. Mr. Thomas served his country in the U.S. Marines during WWII with the Marine Fighting Squadron 251 in the capacity of Communication & Transportation Officer. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. He had been employed as a Telephone Industry Engineer at Pacific Telephone & Telegraph then GTE - Verizon for 30 years until retiring in 1977. Mr. Thomas was a member of First Presbyterian Church & a Lifetime Master Mason Perry Lodge #350 in Perry, MI. He enjoyed his Model "A" Restorer Club & a Sr. Golf League at Oakridge Golf Club. SURVIVORS Wife, Ruth Maryette; 1 daughter, Virginia "Gina" Ron Boe of Arlington Heights, IL; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Patrick O'Donnell & Laura Ken Knoll. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Lee Thomas & by a brother, Edward. SERVICE Thursday, October 20, 2005, 8:00 PM at Clock Chapel with Rev. Donald Mathews officiating. Interment in the Thomas family plot at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago, IL. VISITATION Thursday, 2-3 & 7-8 PM at Clock Funeral Home.
