Ms. June Lumley (Wilson) passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, in Muskegon, MI surrounded by her loving family.
Born Leota June Claire Wilson (known as June) in Chicago, IL. to Leo O. and Winifred L. (Shearer) Wilson, June grew to become a fiercely independent spirit and was a true Renaissance Woman. Her life was a testament to her courage, strength, resiliency and self-determination.
She relentlessly broke through stereotypical career pathways, embracing a diverse and dynamic professional life. Throughout her career, June mastered an impressive range of roles, including apprentice painter, sandblaster, certified electrician, hotel and restaurant manager, certified pharmacy technician, retail salesperson, and as an administrative/medical assistant...just to name a few! Demonstrating her entrepreneurial spirit, she also created and operated her own successful Car Dealership Driver/Auto Runner business.
Beyond her professional achievements, June lived a life rich in her passions. She found joy in reading, sewing, reupholstering, and traveling off the beaten path. She loved the outdoors, enjoying camping, canoeing, gardening, kayaking, and swimming. June was also an avid supporter of the arts, as she frequented the theater, museums and many cultural events often.
June was a constant and cheering presence, attending and supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at countless school, sporting and life events, while teaching them to never underestimate their own intelligence, courage, strength, and determination.
June is survived by her daughters, Claire Dove of Norton Shores, Paula Sherwood of Twin Lake, Danna Pittman of Roosevelt Park, and Joy (Chuck) Crews-Giddings of Twin Lake; eight grandchildren, Jeremy (Sara) Dove, Joshua Dove, Richard Shear II, Anthony (Jenny) May, Andrew (Kim) May, Kerri (Robin) Maley, Natasha (Eric) Klopp and Dylan (Shannon) Lewis; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Tragically, she was preceded in death by her daughter Norah (Michael) May and grandson Cory May.
She is also preceded in death by her mother and father and her beloved lifelong best friend and considered her "sister from another mister" Ann Lee from Chicago, IL..
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
