Leonard James

Former Fremont resident Leonard James passed away October 19th, 2018, the day before his 84th birthday. He was born October 20th, 1934. Leonard was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn (Hill) James on September 26, 1967. Leonard and his three children moved to Venice, Florida in 1968. He worked for and retired from Sarasota County. Leonard was known for his musical talent and was happiest when playing the piano or organ. He was gifted with the ability to play by ear and could listen to a song a few times and play it back. He was also a very fine piano tuner. After retirement, he enjoyed restoring old pianos. Leonard leaves behind to treasure his memory : his son, Larry James, and daughter-in-law Louise (Land O Lakes, FL); his daughter Rhonda James (Port Orange, FL); and daughter Sheryl James ( Arcadia, FL). He also leaves grandchildren, Amber, Krista, Alan, Ashley, Adam, Russell, Robert, and Raymond as well as great-grandchildren Nicholas, Alexis, Zoe, Luna, and Trent.
