Leonard Alvin Buys

Buys, Mr. Leonard Alvin Muskegon Mr. Leonard Alvin Buys, age 93, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020. He was born in Muskegon, MI on August 13, 1927 to William & Emma (West) Buys and served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He married Barbara Vunck on November 15, 1945. Leonard had been employed as a truck driver for Al Van Freight for over 20 years until retiring in 1980. Leonard was a lifetime member of Don Rea VFW Post #8846. He enjoyed the Indy 500, fishing, traveling, Buys Blueberry Farms & wintered in Florida. SURVIVORS Children, Susan (Bill) Steward-Flora, Stephen Buys, Dianne Buys, Gregory (Kileen) Buys; 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren; sister, Betty Kraai; daughter-in-law, Holly Buys; son-in-law, Daniel Graves; many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara on August 6, 2016; children, Leonard Buys II & Jilleen Graves; grandsons, Leonard Buys III & James Keenan; sons-in-law, Orval Strait I, Fred Steward; 7 siblings; Chuck, Bill, Russ, Phil, Norman, George & Irene Smith.
