Kueny,

Leola Mae

North Muskegon, Michigan

Leola Mae "Lupe" Kueny, age 95, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, February 23, 2025. She was born in Muskegon, MI, on January 7,1930, to Duane & Irene (Olson) Case; and graduated from Muskegon High School. After high school, she met the love of her life, Kenneth Kueny, at a local four-square dance. Their 68 years of marriage began on February 8,1949, and they settled in North Muskegon to raise their four children: Tom, Paul, Karen and Jim.

Lupe dedicated her life to her family and giving of her time. When she wasn't spending her time raising her children or loving on her grandchildren she was volunteering at the Red Cross, the gift shop at Muskegon General Hospital, and occasionally helping out her son in the pro shop at Lincoln Golf Course. She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and was a longtime member of Samuel Lutheran Church and its Altar Guild.

Her 95 years were filled with numerous talents and activities: camping, sewing matching dresses for her and her daughter or her grandchildren, knitting, needlepoint, watching hours of QVC, cooking her famous Italian Meatloaf for Sunday family dinners, making a weekly batch of her famous granola, challenging herself with a good crossword puzzle, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She also enjoyed playing Bridge or having coffee with her lady friends.

The family would like to thank the incredible caregivers she had for the support, love, and care they gave for the past five years, as well as for watching endless hours of The Game Show Network with her.

Lupe (Mother, Grandma-Ma, Grandma Great, Friend) will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile; the way she exemplified Jesus in her selfless, loving, attitude towards life; and for the way she loved her family so well. We look forward to hearing her say again, "I love you a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck."
