Leila V. "Jean" Sikkenga

Mrs. Leila V. "Jean" Sikkenga, age 93, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Grand Pines Assisted Living in Grand Haven, MI. She was born in Aurora, IL on February 9, 1918 to Van Ness & Grace (Carr) Arnold and married Arthur F. Sikkenga on September 27, 1947. In her younger years, Mrs. Sikkenga served as a secretary at Central United Methodist Church. She was an active member of Royal Oak First United Methodist Church for over 50 years where she served in many capacities including the Head of her Circle. Jean was also active in the United Methodist Women and Church Women United for many years. SURVIVORS Daughter, Esther Rodriquez of TX; grandchildren, Brian (Stephanie) Finkey of Algonac, Shawn Finkey of Warren; great grandchildren, Skylar Finkey, Rick Finkey, Brook Wreggelsworth, Brittany Wreggelsworth; sister-in-law Hazel (Mike) Harjer and brother-in-law Fred Hubbard; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; parents; siblings, Dorothy (Ora) Partridge, Marion Hubbard, John (Marie) Arnold, Beverly (Henry) Hartman and sister-in-law Phyllis (Ren) Van Andel. SERVICE Monday, April 11, 2011, 11:00 AM and visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Rev. Tim DeJonge officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
