MAJORS, MRS. LEA ALICE Norton Shores Mrs. Lea A. Majors, age 76, died Friday, June 3, 2005. She was born in Malax, Finland on November 10, 1928 to Alfred & Ida Masus Lund and married Alfred Majors on August 31, 1952 in Finland. She emigrated to the United States shortly after her marriage. Her first job was that of a salesperson for Amway. She sold her goods to fellow Scandinavians, at first. She learned the English language through her interactions with her children and their school books. She held various jobs during her life, including personal aide, cook, waitress, and as an employee of Brenneman Curtain Roll. Lea was a very memorable person, most notably for her wonderful Swedish accent, smile, and her radiant personality. Always finding the good in every person and every situation, Lea had a giving, generous nature. Her nine grandchildren were a constant source of pride. Her Swedish heritage was important to her and she made sure that it was an integral part of her children's and grandchildren's lives. She made many trips back to the "old country" and took several of her relatives back to meet their relatives across the ocean.
