Mr. Lawrence D. Poulson, age 78, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2007, at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. He was born July 2, 1929 in Muskegon to James H. and Lillian M. (Leas) Poulson and lived his entire life in the area. Mr. Poulson was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the 11th Airborne Division from 1951-1953. Mr. Poulson received his master's degree in special education from Northern Michigan University. He retired in 1991 from Muskegon Public Schools after 26 years as a teacher. On June 16, 1967, he married the former Alice M. Ramey in Ferry, MI and she preceded him in death on December 20, 1995. On August 15, 1998, he married the former Jean C. Falony. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where he was active with the Altar Guild. SURVIVORS include his wife, Jean; his mother, Lillian Poulson; his step-children, Brian Michael (Nancy) Falony of Lawrenceville, GA, Lynne Suzanne (Lawrence) Osborn, Jr. of Muskegon, Heather Falony (Eric) Sturr of Muskegon; 9 step-grandchildren; 1 brother, James C. (Loraine) Poulson of California; 1 sister, Lois (Floyd) Vos of Muskegon; 1 sister-in-law, Margaret Bultema of Ravenna, MI; several nieces, nephews, and close friends, including Joan Pietila and Kathy Beauchamp. Along with his first wife, Alice, he was also preceded in death by his father, James H. Poulson. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church (1006 Third St.) with Rev. Fr. Dennis Remenschneider presiding. ENTOMBMENT will take place in St. Paul's Columbarium. VISITATION with the family will follow the service in the Guild Hall.
