Lawrence Ray "Sonny" Medacco

Mr. Lawrence Ray "Sonny" Medacco, age 59, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at his home. He was born August 14, 1948 in Muskegon to Joseph and Mildred (Gripke) Medacco and has lived in the area his entire life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War. He worked over 10 years as a groundskeeper for Bent Pine Golf Course. He was also an active member of the Muskegon Eagle's Aerie 668. On August 14, 1974, he married the former Linda Marie Leek in Muskegon and she survives him. They have 5 children: Virginia, Barbara, Angela, Jeffery, and Stacy. Sonny is also survived by his parents, Joseph and Mildred Medacco; his brothers, Gene, Frank and Dave; and his sisters, Marie and Joyce. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 25, 2008 at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Avenue (231) 726-5210 VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service, 10-11 AM Friday. INTERMENT will follow at Egelston Township Cemetery with Military Honors offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. MEMORIAL CONTRIBTIONS in lieu of flowers may be directed to the family.
