Lawrence R. Hovey

Mr. Lawrence R. Hovey, age 81, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008 in Rockledge, Florida. He was born on September 1, 1926 in Muskegon and was a life long resident. He married Eileen Morrissey in August of 1960. He was a member of the American Legion Post, Muskegon Eagles, Moose Lodge, VFW Post 449 and Lincoln Golf Club. He served his country in the US Navy from 1943 - 1945. He retired from Baxter. He was an avid fisherman and golfer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Matilda, father, Charles and brother, Vern. His survivors include his wife, Eileen of Muskegon; daughter, Ellen (Geoff) Goodyear of Grandville, MI; sister, Arlene (Bob) Whiteman of Muskegon; brother, Leon (Judy) Hovey of Rudyard, MI and 2 grandchildren, Alex and Lauren and many nieces and nephews. Lawrence was a devoted husband, wonderful father, grandfather and a good friend to many. The Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday, June 14th at 11:00am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
