Lawrence Fremd

Mr. Fremd, age 85, died June 16, 2007. Born April 24, 1922, in Crystal Vvalley, Oceana County, to Orley and Hazel (Cole) Fremd, he had lived in the White Lake area a number of years after working many years in the Flint area for General Motors Corp. He was married to the former Lorraine E. "Sally" Schnieder, who preceded him in death in 2001. He was a member of White Lake VFW Post #3256 and Wood-Tazelaar Chapter #11 DAV of Muskegon. Mr. Fremd served in the US Army during World War II with the 11th Armored Division, where he earned the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers. FAMILY: 2 sons, Harold (Rhea) Fremd of Durand and Donald (Kathy) Fremd of Davison; grandchildren, Harold (Rebecca) Fremd of Byron, Michael (Donna) Fremd of Durand, Sharon (Keith) Amman of Davison, Melissa (Mark) Springsteen of Flint, Donald (Diane) Fremd of Mt. Morris and Amy (Dennis) Schalau of Davison; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Willard (Donna) Fremd. SERVICE: Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at 1:00 PM, at Clock Chapel- Whitehall. Interment will be made in Oakhurst Cemetery - Whitehall. Military Graveside Rites will be condusted at the cemetery by White Lake VFW Post #3256. VISITING HOURS: Tuesday, 2-4 & 6-8PM, at Clock Funeral Home in Whitehall.
