Mr. Laverne Van De Weg, age 77, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on May 4, 1945 to Gerritt & Rose (Voetberg) Van De Weg and married the former Ida Cleveringa. Vern had been employed as a grinder/machine operator for Grand Haven Brass for 25 years until they closed and then worked at Sintel until retiring. He attended Grand Haven Church of the Nazereen and then Coastal Community Church. Vern enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his son. He also loved spending time with his family.

son, Jason (Melissa) Van De Weg; daughters Rebecca (Jill Sarva) Van De Weg, Victoria (Dan) Ronning, Helen Van De Weg; Lenore Van De Weg; grandchildren, Noel (Tyler) Carr, Alexis Van De Weg, Christian, Van De Weg, Daniel Van De Weg, Rose, Van De Weg, Jared Bushen; Great-grandson Jason Carr; brother Harv (Sharon) Van De Weg; sister, Rose (Paul) Lutz; Former Spouse Ida Van De Weg; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson Brandon Van De Weg.
