LaVerne Leroy Burns, age 62, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. Born on November 29, 1963, in Muskegon, Michigan, LaVerne was the cherished son of Sandra Kay Long (Wentzloff) and LaVerne Dale Burns.

LaVerne was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He took immense joy in his family, particularly in spending quality time with his only grandson, Eadric K. Sowa. His passions extended beyond family; he found great pleasure in the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, and boating. Additionally, LaVerne had a knack for tinkering, always seeking to fix or improve everything around him.

LaVerne leaves behind his beloved wife, Gina M. Burns, and his cherished children, LaVerne M. Burns and Kassandra L. Burns/Sowa, along with his son-in-law, Jeremy K. Sowa. He will be fondly remembered by his grandson, Eadric, and many adored cousins who will hold his memory dear.
