Lavan Deshawn Gathers, age 49, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025. He was born in Muskegon, MI on April 21, 1976 to Meloney Gathers and Charles Booker and married Crystal Gamble on March 28, 2009. Lavan worked at several different places throughout his life. He worked for Hot-N-Now for 8 years, then at Family Dollar for 2 years and then at Walmart for 9 years. Lavan loved to go fishing, especially along Lake Harbor Drive. He enjoyed playing the Lotto and making trips to Gun Lake Casino. Lavan adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them, babysitting whenever he could. He liked being around his family, grilling food and cooking up his delicious dishes of hamburger and rice. Lavan will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Wife, Crystal, daughter Jolecia Andrews, grandchildren, Ja'Zariah Andrews, Zy'Monie Andrews; god-children, Keshondra Harris, Desquan Lindsey, Na'Lonia Harris, K'Siyha Knox; Mother, Meloney Gathers; Father, Charles Booker; sisters, Laquita Gathers, Pamela Gathers; Brother, Quincy Booker; special cousin, John Gathers. He was preceded in death by a brother Toma Booker.

MEMORIAL SERVICE

Friday, May 30, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Angel Community Church with Pastor Jeffrey Hough officiating. VISITATION One hour prior to the service at the Church.
