Mr. Larry A. Lathrop, age 66, passed away Friday, October 10, 2008 at Harbor Hospice. He was surrounded by family and close friends that loved him dearly. Larry was born July 16, 1942 in Muskegon. He graduated from Muskegon High School Class of '60 and graduated from Tri-State University in Angola, IN. He served his country as an Army Staff Sgt. in Vietnam. He was president of Port City Custom Plastics. On Dec. 10, 1966 Larry married the former Patricia Cooper and she survives him as well as his daughter, Emily Lathrop and grandsons, Jordan and Zackery; and his son, Matthew (Teri) Morse and grandchildren, Maddison and Jason. Other survivors include his mother, Wanita Lathrop of Pentwater; sisters, Sandra (Dr. Bill) Kronlein of Whitehall and Mary Lou (Bob) Buttery of Pentwater; and many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Lathrop in 2001. Larry will always be remembered as a caring father and grandfather, for his outstanding wit, his ferocious support of the Big Red Football Team, his love of all sports including Couch Coaching, and socializing with his many friends. Visitation with family and friends will be held at Lake Harbor United Methodist Church, 4861 Henry St., on Tues. Oct. 14, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of his life will be held Wed. Oct. 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider gifts to Lake Harbor United Methodist Church or Waypoint Academy Transportation Fund.
