Mr. Ladura Thornton, age 65, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 23, 2019. He was born in East Chicago, IN on July 10, 1953 to Bunn Boyd & Laura Sue (Gordon) Thornton and married the former Betty Brown. Mr. Thornton had been employed at CMI in Fruitport, Furniture industry in Omaha Nebraska and a self-employed handyman & landscaper. Ladura was a member of Our Fathers Church and enjoyed fishing, watching cowboy movies, listening to Blues music and taking care of his mom. SURVIVORS Children, Latisha Sims, Latrice Wesley, Shana Newby, Ranetta Newby, Marshanna Thornton, Ladura Young, Lashonda Thornton; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; mother, Laura Thornton; siblings, Robert (Malinda) Thornton, Mae E. Wells, James (Theresa) Thornton, Loretta Briggs, Jackie (Johnny) Robinson, Toni (Victor) Johnson, Valeria Mickens, Louis (Angela) Donley Sr., Louis Donley Jr.; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. He was preceded in death by his father, wife Betty & nephew Brandon Donley. SERVICE Saturday, June 29, 2019, 11:00 AM at Our Father's Church with Pastor Anthony C. Williams officiating.
