DAS, M.D. KSHITISH ''KIT'' CHANDRA Muskegon, MI Kshitish ''Kit'' Chandra Das, M.D., age 73, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, April 28, 2002. He was born in Calcutta, India on February 3, 1929 to the late Dr. Nagendra Nath & Radha Rani Das. Dr. Das received his B.S. & M.D. from the Univer-sity of Calcutta. He came to the United States in 1959 as the Chief Medical Officer on a British ship. Once in the United States, he did a ro-tating internship at the Newport News Hospital in Virginia. He then completed his residency in Psychiatry & Neurology at Barnes Hospital at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Das & his family moved to North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada where he worked as a Psychiatrist & passed the Boards in Psychiatry & Neurology. In 1965, Dr. Das joined the medical & teaching staff at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI in the Electroencephalography EEG Department & was Board Certified in EEG. In 1968, Dr. Das began his private medical practice in Muskegon, MI until 1989. He helped thousands of patients & their families during that time. Dr. Das was Past President of the Muskegon County Medical Society & served on the Michigan State Medical Society Board. He was also a member of the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association & was named a Fellow by the American Psychiatric Association in 1984. In 1968, Dr. Das started his private medical prac-tice in Muskegon until 1989. He helped thousands of patients & their families during that time. Dr. Das enjoyed oil painting, photography, boat-ing on the Great Lakes, entertaining, dancing & traveling with his wife, Joyce. SURVIVORS He leaves his beloved wife, Joyce, who faithfully stood by his side during his long illness; his three children, Dr. Leena Das Young, Sheela Das & Robindra Das & their spouses, Richard Young, Tom Rayburn & Julie Das; eight grandchildren; Cameron & Nicole Young; Haley, Kirby & Olivia Rayburn; & Heather, Nicholas & Emma Das; three sisters, Joy Mihir Bhattacharya, Minu Dr. Ashis Mandal & Kanak Chowdhury; brother-in-law, Rev. Robert Heimos; several nieces & nephews. SERVICE Friday, May 3, 2002, 10:00 AM at St. Jean's Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Heimos officiating. VISITATION Thursday, 6-9 PM with a Scripture Service at 7:00 PM during visitation at Clock Funeral Home. MEMORIAL: The Michael J.
