Kroll, Roth R. "Tiny"

Mr. Kroll, age 83, died February 13, 2007. Born May 6, 1923, in Muskegon, to William and Jessie (McMann) Kroll, he had lived in the White Lake area most of his life. On January 27, 1943, in Montague, he married the former Marjorie Baxter. He had worked as a bricklayer for the union and himself, and coming out of the military as a MP, had worked as a police officer for the City of Whitehall, and later served for 14 years in the Muskegon Township Police Department, where he retired. Mr. Kroll was a Life member of White Lake VFW Post #3256, a member of Algot Johnson American Legion Post #69, a member of the Charles Hammond Lodge #99 of FOP and a member of the American Fraternal Order of Police. He served in the U.S. Army, in Europe, during World War II, where he received the Purple Heart and earned the Bronze Star. Mr. Kroll was preceded in death by 6 brothers. FAMILY: His devoted wife of 64 years, Marjorie; 3 sons, Dennis (Bernadette) Kroll, Gary Kroll and Scott Kroll; a daughter-in-law, Carol Kroll; 4 grandchildren, Denise (Pat) Hartman, Kim ( Justin) Carr, Jason (Lisa) Kroll and John Kroll; 6 great-grandchildren, Meghan & James Hartman, Kyleigh & Lauryn Carr and Savanna & Jackie Kroll; sisters-in-law, Betty (Bob) Tucker, Helen (Ron) Squires, Shirley Reed, Eleanor Kroll and Roberta Olsen; many nieces & nephews; special friend, Al Harris. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, February, 17, 2007, at 12:00 pm (noon), at Clock Chapel - Whitehall. A Military Salute will be offered at the funeral home by White Lake VFW Post #3256 at the time of service. VISITING HOURS: 11:00 AM until service time, at the funeral home in Whitehall.
