Mr. Knowlton, age 66, died November 9, 2006. Born February 9, 1940 in Whitehall to James and Leila (Huston) Knowlton, he had lived in the White Lake area most of his life. On October 10, 1980 in Bremerton, WA, he married the former Donalee K. Burkhart and had been an educator at Bremerton School District until retiring. He also was a self-employed inventor. Mr. Knowlton was a member of White Lake Eagles Aerie #3214, the Arts Council of Ocean Shores, the Arts Council of White Lake, a member of the White Lake Historical Society, and had served on the Whitehall City Planning Commission. He had attended the US Air Force Academy. FAMILY: His wife, Donalee; 4 sisters, Lois Knowlton of Whitehall, Ann (Fred) Lutke of Grand Haven, Phyllis Knowlton of Muskegon, and Nancy Humphrey of Paw Paw; a niece, Mary Jo (Kevin) French of Spring Lake; 3 nephews, James Lutke of Spring Lake, Ronald Humphrey, and Robert Humphrey, both of Kalamazoo; and cousins, John Knowlton of Montague and Michael Knowlton of Whitehall.
