Mr. Kirk M. Chauvez , age 68, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016. He was born to Elery & Patricia (Sivertson) Chauvez and served his country in the US Navy during Vietnam. To know Kirk Chauvez was to know a man larger than life. He worked hard, served his country with pride and was a devoted Christian man. His quick wit personality made him impossible to forget and made the darkest of days so much brighter. His early years were spent picking at his brother and sister, Kevin and Kimberly. He showed his devotion to them by continuously reminding them he was the biggest and "smartest" of the three. They have continued this relationship throughout their lives. Family was always number one to Kirk and he showed that to his gaggle of nieces and nephews every chance he could. The only thing larger than his personality was his heart. To be Kirk's friend was to have a loyal companion and someone who always had your back. Whether he was hunting, fishing or schooling his friends in cards he always brought laughter and smiles. Kirk met the love of his life when he was just 23. Sharon brought the "whole package" for Kirk including two great kids, Jimmy and Jacqie, that Kirk fell in love with along with Sharon. Kirk's smile lit up when Sharon walked in the room. Together they created an amazing life that included Kirk's pride and joys; Kristopher and Kallie. Kirk loved to brag about their accomplishments but rattled their chains to encourage them to work harder. He loved them with his whole heart. Kirk was more than a Grandpa to his grandchildren, he was Papa. Papa loved his grandchildren more than anything and showed this love through jokes and teasing. He was always quick to let them know how much he appreciated their visits by telling them "come back when you can't stay so long". To say he will be missed by his grandchildren is a great understatement.
