Kim R Kolberg

Mr. Kim Rodney Kolberg, age 71, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 with family and friends by his side. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on May 5, 1947 to Kenneth & Clara (Jensen) Kolberg and married the former Carole Coston on June 27, 1992. Mr. Kolberg served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Distributive Education, as well as, a Master's Degree in Counseling. He had been employed as a Counselor for Muskegon Public Schools until retiring. Mr. Kolberg enjoyed wintering in Arizona, traveling, and playing golf. SURVIVORS Wife of 25 years, Carole (Coston) Kolberg; 1st wife, Shelley Wierda; sons, Matthew Kolberg of Holt, Ryan Kolberg of CO: daughter, Megan Kolberg of Muskegon; stepsons, Todd Thedorff of Muskegon, Trevor (Shannon) Thedorff of Fruitport, Troy (Tammy) Thedorff of Muskegon; grandchildren, Brandon, Joshua, Tyler, Trenton; father, Kenneth Kolberg of Muskegon; brothers, Kirk (Laura) Kolberg of Muskegon, Kevin (Sherlene) Kolberg of Muskegon; sisters, Kristine (Cesareo) Vasquez of AZ, Kathleen (Gary) Schottke of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Kolberg. SERVICE Per his wishes no service will take place. MEMORIAL: Ken and Clara Kolberg Family Scholarship Fund at Muskegon Community Foundation.
