Mr. Kevin Davis, age 55, passed away unexpectedly in Ann Arbor, MI on September 2, 2007. He was born November 13, 1951 in Defiance, Ohio. Kevin married the former Jeani Summerville on August 20, 1998 in Muskegon, MI. He graduated from Muskegon Community College in 1971 and was co-owner of Timberline Construction Co. for many years. This was followed by employment with ABC Supply Co. until his retirement in 1998. At the time of his death, Kevin was the Ward 4 City Commissioner and actively campaigning for his re-election in November, 2007. Kevin was a lifetime political and environmental activist, which was evident in his numerous community interests. He was a volleyball enthusiast who organized Muskegon's beach volleyball program for 20 years and coached at Muskegon High School for 12 years. Kevin was a heart transplant recipient, who thanks to the Gift of Life organ transplant program was given 8 additional years of life. He is survived by his wife, Jeani; children, Emma (Brian) Torresen of Muskegon, and Ian Davis of Muskegon; stepchildren, Chris (Kelli) Johnson of Twin Lake, Amy (Jim) Tardani of Muskegon and Brian (Sara) Johnson of Muskegon; 2 brothers, Lew (Monica) Davis of Colorado Springs, CO, Al (Deb) Davis of Holland, MI; 1 sister, Melody (Kathy Brown) Davis of Perrysburg, OH; 3 grandchildren and 6 nieces and nephews. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Marian Davis.
