Kessler, Gladys M.

Mrs. Gladys M. Kessler, age 97, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at VNS - Hospice House. She was born May 1, 1909 in Merrill, MI to William and Bessie (Murphy) Doehring and lived in the Muskegon area most of her life. On November 29, 1928, she married Charles "Nathan" Kessler and he preceded her in death on September 12, 1990. She had been employed as a lab technician for Hackley Hospital for 25 years before her retirement. She was a very active member of Muskegon First Church of the Nazarene where she participated in the Missionary Society. SURVIVORS include 1 son, Dale (Lois) Kessler of Midland; 2 daughters, Naomi Kessler of Zeeland and Elda Andrews of Muskegon; 1 daughter-in-law, Marilyn Kessler of Conway, SC; 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter; 1 sister, Iva Schultz of Port Charlotte, FL. She was also preceded in death by her son, Norman Kessler; grandson, Derek Livenspargar; 2 brothers, Don and Lyle Doehring; and son-in-law, Dan Andrews. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 9:00 AM Saturday, December 16, 2006 at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Avenue (231) 726-5210 Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be 5-8 PM Friday (this evening).
