Kenneth Young

Mr. Kenneth W. Young, age 77, died Thursday, August 27, 2009 at his home. He was born in Whitehall, MI on June 8, 1932 to Walter & Lucille (Burrington) Young and served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married the former LaVerle Bryan on September 3, 1966. Mr. Young had been employed by the US Post Office and retired from Howmet after 15 years. Ken also was the owner of Lake of the Woods Lodge in Canada. He was a life time member of Fruitland Evangelical Covenant Church and Muskegon Bowman Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved woodcarving, his flower garden and the time spent with his loving family. SURVIVORS Wife of 43 years, LaVerle; son, Kenneth Young of Lakewood Club; daughters, Ronda Howell of Montague, Susan (Michael) Wheeler of Muskegon; 9 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter; sister, Donna (Joe) Johnivan; several nieces, nephews & cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law, Christy Young & stepmother, Alice Young.
