Mr. Kenneth "Ken" G. Erickson, age 92, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011. He was born in Detroit, MI on February 14, 1918 to Albin & Edith (Petersen) Erickson and served his country in the US Army during WWII. He married the former Rita Lyonnais on August 22, 1942. Mr. Erickson had been employed as a Director of ADC and WIN Programs for the State of Michigan for 25 years until retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church where he and Rita sang in the choir for many years. Ken was a member of American Legion Post #28 in Grand Haven, Vikings, Eagles & Moose Lodges. He enjoyed ballroom dancing and traveling. SURVIVORS Wife of 68 years, Rita; sons, Alan (Ahme) Erickson of Spring Lake, Craig (Kathy) Erickson of Norton Shores; daughter, Pam (Michael) Holmes of PA; grandchildren, Kirk, Jen, Paul, Sarah, Emily; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Donald Erickson of SC, formerly of North Muskegon; sister, Joan Stewart of Muskegon; sisters-in-law, Claire Belanger of Grand Rapids & Mary Grace Lyonnais; brother-in-law, Francis Lyonnais of Stanton; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; great grandchildren, Lauren & Michael; sister, Jean Gray; brothers-in-law, Raymond Lyonnais, Geoffrey Gray & Edward Stewart; sister-in-law, Irene Erickson. SERVICE Monday, January 31, 2011, 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. George Fekete officiating. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery. VISITATION Sunday, 2-4 PM at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Muskegon and Monday, 1 hour prior to the service at the church. MEMORIAL: St. Thomas Building Fund or American Heart Association.
