It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Keith Lee Short, who left us on October 20, 2026, at the age of 58. Born on September 11, 1968, in Renton, Washington, Keith lived a life filled with passion for trucking and a love for classic cars. He was a dedicated truck driver for nearly 15 years, primarily with Melton Trucking, and he previously drove for Van Eerden.
Prior to his time on the road, Keith honed his skills in welding and bodywork at a local trade school, which fueled his lifelong passion for Mopar and Dodge vehicles. Notably, he restored a classic Firebird and spent countless hours assembling his cherished 1970 Dodge Challenger. Even after facing health challenges, he never lost his knack for diagnosing car troubles just by listening-his mechanical ear never failed him.
During his teenage years, Keith enjoyed working on a dairy farm and was actively involved with FFA. He earned his GED after attending Oakridge High School and generously shared his life experiences living in various states with his family. Keith was a quiet, independent man, happiest in the company of engines, tools, and his beloved animals.
Keith is survived by his son Kyle Short and grandson Maxwell Short; his father, Virgil Short (and stepmother Sue Short); his sisters Mindy (Chris) Wierengo and Megan (Don) Eacker; and his treasured nieces and nephews-Matthew Eacker, Michael Eacker, Cearra McKinnon, and Devon Keck. He will also be remembered by his stepsister Tricia Murphy and stepbrother Eric Johnson. He was preceded in death by his beautiful and loving mother, Linda Tikkanen.
The family will hold a celebration of life visitation on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Clock Funeral Home, where friends and family can gather to share stories and memories.
In the spirit of celebrating Keith's love for the open road and all things Dodge, his family invites friends to remember him through stories and fond memories. Keith will be deeply missed, but his passion for his animals and cars will always be remembered.
