Kathryn Eaton

Kathryn "Kay" Eaton, age 93, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2007, at an area care facility. She was born June 7, 1913, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Carl and Emma (Rother) Kruser. She was married to former Grand Haven, Board of Light & Power Chairman, Glenn Eaton for 56 years, until his death in 1996. Mrs. Eaton was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven. She was also a member of the church's Cherry-Eastman/VandenBosch-Zoerner Circle as well as of the North Ottawa Community Hospital Guild. Mrs. Eaton had been employed as a sales clerk for Steketees and also spent many years serving as an election pollster for the city of Grand Haven. She was an avid gardener and a member of the Tri-Cities Garden Club. Survivors include a daughter, Pam (Steve) Brown of Bloomington, IN, and her children, Erik and Kristen; and a son, Glenn (Meg) Eaton III of Whitehall and his children, Samuel and Beth. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Brady and Phyllis Gordon. The service arrangements for Mrs. Eaton will be announced at a later date. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorials to the Duncan Park Commission are appreciated.
