Kathleen Estes

Kathleen Bernice Estes (Mars), 86, of Muskegon, passed away on July 8, 2011 at home. Kay was born on June 21, 1925 in Muskegon, MI. Upon leaving school she enjoyed traveling to and working in Chicago and Phoenix. When she returned to Michigan, she married Charles Estes on January 4, 1947. They made their home in Muskegon and raised two sons. She loved to bake, read, visit with friends and go on family picnics. Throughout the years Kay held many jobs that included Sealed Power and Mejier. She and Chuck were members of Maycroft Square Tappers where they enjoyed many do-si-dos. Upon their retirement they wintered in Florida. SURVIVORS She is survived by her children, David (Lori) and Steven (Amy); seven grandchildren, Scott (Deb), David (Adriane), John, Lisa, Nicholas (Erin), Sarah and Stephanie; four great-grandchildren, Brady, Isla, Isabelle and Jackson; beloved family pet, Peanut; and her special friend of many years, Beckie. Kay is preceded in death by her husband who recently passed on June 10, 2011. SERVICE The family is planning a memorial service to be held at a later date.
