Kathrine Ellen Rollins blessed this world on April 2, 1960 with her beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She had much love and many gifts that she shared with her friends until her death on October 17, 2022. Kathy was proceeded in death by her mother Linda Ross, both of whom were from Wisconsin. Kathy also spent several years in the Upper Peninsula before moving to Muskegon. Kathy was a lover of animals and nature. She won the trust of her beloved rescue cat Simon because of her patient and kind heart. Over the years she rescued a variety of animals because Kathy had much love to give when given the chance. The people of her AA groups also benefitted from that love. Kathy was a member of AA Muskegon for years where she flourished and became a sponsor to pay forward the help she received from her best friend, sponsor and spiritual guide Leon Dobben who also proceeded her in death. Kathy achieved another healing quality by becoming a Reiki Master, she used this gift for both friends and animals. Kathy was always in search of her spiritual family and found it while attending Six Crows, Wolf Run Spiritual Sanctuary and many other organizations. She was also a member of the Rainbow Tribe in search of her heritage while following her native path. Through these friends Kathy became the person she strived to be. While on her journey, she began to play the Djembe, hand drums and was learning Native American flute. Kathy had deep love and understanding of music. This love was evident every time she sang with her beautiful voice and played her self-taught guitar. Many bonfires were blessed over the years by the music she was asked to play and she was always ready to play the music she loved. Whether camping under the stars or a circle in someone's back yard she was always ready to take requests, including Puff the Magic Dragon. As her understanding of music grew she began playing her drum and flute for many rituals and drum circles. Kathy was known to bring extra instruments with her, sharing her gift to encourage others to join in. Through these rituals, drum circles and friendships; Kathy's journey in her recovery became possible. The healing power she received from this gave her the resilience to take on her physical challenges while remaining humble. Her song will be missed immensely, but alas she is free. A celebration of life will be held this coming spring consisting of a bonfire, drum circle and luncheon. Details will be posted at a later date.
