Karon L. Hawkins

Karon L. Hawkins, age 49, passed away early Friday morning, December 5, 2008 at home. Karon was born September 4, 1959 to William and Debra (Growden) Reckley in Muskegon, and had lived most of her life here. She had worked for several years helping customers at Menards. Karon had the gift of friendliness to those she met, of being willing to help those that needed help, and also of remembering names. She is survived by 4 children, Jeremy (Staci) Hawkins of Coopersville, Jodi (James) Smith of Twin Lake, Kelsey Hawkins of Spring Lake, Kendra Hawkins of Norton Shores; 3 grandchildren, Julia and Jessica Smith, Jayden Hawkins; her mother, Debbie Reckley of Norton Shores; her father, Bill Reckley of Norton Shores; 1 sister, Karla Cleveland of Hastings, MN; 1 nephew, Alex Cleveland. A gathering to celebrate Karon's life will be held in the Community Room at 18270 Woodland Ridge Dr., Spring Lake, 49456 from 6-8 PM Tuesday evening. Contributions in Karon's memory may be made to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, or the American Cancer Society.
