Karen Lou Shively, age 80, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 after a three year battle with dementia. She was born in Muskegon, MI on April 13, 1944 to Otto & Johanna (Vandenberg) Jorgenson and graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1962. She then went on to Deaconess Hospital in Detroit where she became a registered nurse. Karen married Thomas Shively, the love of her life, on July 10, 1970. During her working years, Karen was employed as a Registered Nurse at North Ottawa Community Hospital for 20 years and then worked as the coordinator of medical missionary supplies at International Aid, until retiring. Karen was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved spending time with her only granddaughter, Abby, and being with her family.

SURVIVORS

husband Thomas Shively; daughter Sarah (Kevin) Jensen; grandchild, Abigayle Jensen. She was preceded in death by a son, Matthew, in 2023 and her siblings, Elaine, Audrey and Gary.

SERVICE
