Petrowski, Mrs. Karen Jean Muskegon, Michigan On Thursday, September 10, 2020, Karen Jean Petrowski, age 78, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, after a six year battle with Alzheimer's. Throughout the progress of her disease, Karen maintained a good attitude due to her strong faith and the excellent care she received from friends and family, especially her husband. Karen was born January 15, 1942 in Muskegon, Michigan to Margaret (Cleland) and Edwin Weyerbacher. She graduated from Muskegon Heights High School. She was employed at Hackley Hospital for a short time but most of her life was spent as a devoted wife and mother, taking excellent care of her household. Karen enjoyed playing Cribbage, sewing, cross stitching, reading, crocheting, gardening, playing and winning Scrabble, and spent time creating afghans and doilies. She enjoyed watching baseball, favoring the Detroit Tigers. She was well known for her baking including cookies and breads, but especially her famous cinnamon rolls. Karen was active in her church, Calvary Memorial, and participated in Vacation Bible School, Ladies Fellowship, worked as the church secretary, and would most often be found helping in the kitchen. Karen treasured spending time with family, her grandchildren, and valued fellowship, especially having lunch with her friends. She always made things fun and had a spunky sense of humor. Karen and her husband celebrated 59 years of marriage on September 2, 2020. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dale Weyerbacher, and her sister Janice Enders. She is survived by her husband, James Petrowski; her sister, Pat Weselo; her three children: Lisa Luckenbaugh, Laura Swanson, and Mark (Rose) Petrowski; and her three grandchildren: Daniel Luckenbaugh, Adam Luckenbaugh, and Anna Swanson. The family would like to thank Spectrum Health Hospice for their excellent care of Karen. A private memorial service may be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Memorial Church for the Missions Fund. Please visit www.clockfuneralhome.com to leave a memory or sign the online guestbook.
