She was born in Muskegon, MI on October 3, 1925 to Asaph LeRoy & Cora Ellen Cook Hessel & married Irvin Carlson on August 1, 1947 in Muskegon, MI. Mrs. Carlson had been employed as an executive secretary at the Paper Mill, Brunswick, VanderVelde Furniture and an Office Manager for James Hegedus DDS until retiring in 1980. She was an active member of Samuel Lutheran Church and it's Church Circle. Mrs. Carlson enjoyed cooking, playing cards, needlework, flower gardening & traveling. She loved making holidays special for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. SURVIVORS Husband, Irvin; 1 son, Paul Maryetta Carlson of Surfside Beach, SC; 1 daughter, Pam Greg Smith of Rockford, MI; 3 grandchildren, Alyssa & Kelsey Smith of Rockford, MI & Jeffrey Denise Carlson of SC; 1 sister, Dorothy Marceau of Muskegon & 1 brother, Clair Beth Hessel of Muskegon, Many Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters & by 2 brothers. MEMORIAL SERVICE Friday, June 24, 2005, 11:00 AM at Samuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Chris Anderson officiating.
