Mr. Julius C. Scharmer, age 94, died Saturday, March 31, 2007 in Streetsville, Mississauga, Ontario. The youngest of 12, he was born in Muskegon on January 12, 1913, to Edward & Emma (Rudolph) Scharmer and married the former Eugenia Berniece Gustafson on August 6, 1936. Mr. Scharmer had been employed as a chemist and plant manager, and ended his career as a manufacturing consultant for the Ontario Government. Subsequent to his retirement, he was an active volunteer in several service organizations and was an avid gardener, bridge player, and world traveler. SURVIVORS 2 sons, Warren Scharmer of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Brian Scharmer of Streetsville, Ontario, Canada; daughter, Linda (Jerry) Chambers of Stockbridge, Michigan; grandson, Jason (Heather) Scharmer of Atlanta, Georgia; two great-grandsons, Andrew and Nathaniel Scharmer; one brother, Ernest Scharmer of Muskegon; and many treasured nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife "Jeanne" in 2003 after almost 65 years of marriage. SERVICE Saturday, April 7, 2007, 2:00 PM at Clock Chapel with Rev. Clifford Lones officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION Saturday, 1 hour prior to the service at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Muskegon. MEMORIAL: Muskegon Rescue Mission or the charity of your choice.
