Juella Welty

Mrs. Juella V. Welty, age 87, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007 at Harbor Hospice in Muskegon. She was born December 26, 1919 in Overisel, MI to Henry and Cornelia (Tanis) Wolters and moved to the Muskegon area in 1945. She was a member of Hope Reformed Church were she stayed very involved in church activities, choir and ladies guild. She was a member of VFW Women's Auxiliary and a volunteer at International Aid. On June 8, 1945 she married Fred E. Welty in Overisel, MI. SURVIVORS include her husband Fred and their 4 children, Norman (Louanna) Welty of Grand Haven, Lawrence (Karen) Welty and Betty (Edward) Garvey both of Muskegon, and Gloria Retzlaff of Grand Haven, 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 brother, Eugene Wolters of Overisel, 3 sisters, Rosalynn Nyhuis of Holland, MI, Clara (Robert) Bradford, and Valora Vanvuren of Overisel. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Don Wolters. SERVICES for Mrs. Welty will be 11:00AM Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Hope Reformed Church, 1878 Evanston Ave. with Pastor Steve Hyma officiating. VISITATION will be 2-4 and 6-8PM Wednesday at the The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Home 737 E. Apple Ave 231-726-5210 INTERMENT will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS in honor of Juella may be given to Hope Reformed Church.
