Judith Elaine Rood

ROOD, Judith E. (nee Tuovilla Stoops) Muskegon, MI Mrs. Judith (Judy) Rood, a retired elementary school teacher, passed away June 9, at Hospice of North Ottawa at Heartwood Lodge. She was born June 6, 1929 and lived her early years in the greater Detroit area, with fond memories of the local Finnish camp. She spent most of her teaching years in the Fruitport School District and retired at age 62. Judy was very active in a number of area organizations, both political and ecumenical and some "just for fun", including a dog club, a woodwind recorder group and as an active member of the Son's of Norway. Judy had a daughter, Barbara Stoops who preceded her in death. In 1990 she married Bill Rood who preceded her in 2018. She is survived by Bill's sons Scott (Cindy) Rood of Norton Shores, MI; and Brian (Jessica Nance) Rood of Overland Park, KS; and grandchildren John Rood, Michael Rood, Connor Rood, Grace Rood and Robert Rood.
