Juanita Vokal

Mrs. Juanita Babe "Nita Bug" Vokal, age 82, went to be with her Lord Saturday, August 7, 2010. She was born in Fenton, Michigan on September 20, 1927 to Walter & Dorla (Hinsdall) Phillips and married Edward Vokal on February 14, 1970. Mrs. Vokal had been a waitress at Harvey's Pontaluna and other restaurants until retiring. She loved the simple things in life and was devoted to her family. Nita Bug was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Husband of 40 years, Edward; son, Dennis LaPorte of Irons; daughter, Ann (Paul) Gable of Scottville; stepsons, Frank Vokal of Nunica, Thomas (Brenda) Vokal of Nunica, Rob (significant other, Sandy) Vokal of Ravenna; step daughter, Carla (Mike) Feehan of Muskegon; numerous grand & great grandchildren including, Brad (Wendy) Patterson, Angel (Travis) Reidy; sister-in-law, Sally Phillips of CA; several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bruce LaPorte; stepson, Kevin Vokal; sisters, Beatrice Troutt, Kitty Brower; brother, Walter Phillips. SERVICE Thursday, August 12, 2010, 2:00 PM at Clock Chapel - Fruitport with Fr. Norman Droski officiating. VISITATION Thursday, 1 hour prior to the service at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Fruitport. MEMORIAL: Great Lakes Hospice.
