Joyce Thebo

Mrs. Joyce Morrell Thebo, age 95, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in Macomb, MI. She was born in Muskegon, MI on July 28, 1924 to Samuel & Jennie (VanDyke) Morrell. She married William Thebo on December 19, 1944 in Coffeville, KS. He preceded her in death in 1999. Mrs. Thebo served in the US Navy Hospital Corp during WWII and was a graduate of Michigan State University. She was a High School teacher for Carrollton Public Schools, where she developed and coordinated the first co-op business program. Joyce enjoyed music and spending time with her family. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Clemens and First Evangelical Lutheran Church of North Muskegon, and was active in The American Association of University Women (AAUW). Joyce was the oldest of nine children and is survived by Theodore (Eleanor) Morrell and Barbara (Gordon) Bonifield. She was preceded in death by Phyllis (Glen) Curtis, DeLore (Thelma) Morrell, Franklin Morrell, Joseph (Joanne) Morrell, Raymond Morrell, and Ilene (Robert) Steele. Mrs. Thebo is also survived by her children, Thomas (Patricia) Thebo of Kingsley, MI; Dr. Jennifer Thebo of York, PA; Steven Thebo of Macomb, MI; and Rebecca (Michael) Ball of Macomb, MI; as well as eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Clock Funeral Home - Muskegon. Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, August 3, 2019 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church of North Muskegon with Rev Bill Uetricht officiating. Internment follows in Laketon Township Cemetery.
