Joyce E. Schotts, age 67, passed away, surrounded by her family, Tuesday, October 9, 2007, following a long illness. Mrs. Schotts was born December 30, 1939 to Lawrence and Eva (Fessenden) Stout in Fremont. On January 21, 1956 she married Carl Schotts in Muskegon. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Joyce was an instructor with the Lumbertown Cloggers and the Cardinal Cloggers. She had toured abroad with her Cloggers many times. She was also an avid deer hunter and licensed beautician. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Carl; 4 children, Sherry (fiance', Bob Kiester) Schotts of Fremont, Carl (Kathy) Schotts, Jr. of Muskegon, Tina Terryn of N. Muskegon and Lonnie (Shannon) Schotts of Norton Shores; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Lawrence (Jerry) Stout of Florida, Herb (Thyra) Stout of Fremont and Ron (Pat) Stout of Muskegon; 1 sister, Dot (friend, John) Gilland of Muskegon; 1 sister-in-law, Rita Stout of N. Muskegon; and deer hunting friend, Joe Brooks. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, Raymond Stout and 1 sister, Lucille Johnson. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 3:00 PM Friday, October 12, 2007 at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231 759-8565 with Rev. John H. Brown officiating. Burial will be in West Hesperia Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM on Thursday and 1 hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
