Joyce Johnson

Mrs. Joyce Irene Johnson, age 86, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007. She was born in Muskegon, MI on Aug. 6, 1921, to Jay F. and Beatrice (Lawton); and married George Johnson. Mrs. Johnson had been a homemaker and was a member of the Grand Haven Gospel Chapel. Survivors included two daughters, Sue (Mark) Slager of Spring Lake and Rhonda (John) VanOveren of Spring Lake; four grandchildren: Scott (Chris) Slager, Lisa (Rick) Skorupski, Jamie VanOveren and Jodi Riewald; four great-grandchildren: Tyler Essenberg, Shane Skorupski, Dylan Skorupski and Caleb Slager; one brother, Jay A. Kieft of Fruitport; brother-in-law, Chuck (Lillian) Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1999; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Foutz.
