Joy Arlene Bower

Bower, Mrs. Joy Arlene Muskegon, Michigan Mrs. Joy Arlene Bower, age 83, passed away on Monday December 23rd, 2019 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Onaway, MI on March 5, 1936 to Orville and Gloreanor "Peggy" (Long) McClary. She married Thomas W. Bower Sr. on June 11th, 1953. Joy graduated from college with her Associates Degree after raising her family and was then employed as a Dietary Aide at Northcrest Nursing Center for over 10 years. Her number one priority was taking care of her family, neighbors, and friends. Her door was always open. She loved to sew, make crafts, and also looked forward to her annual gathering of the all girls "Cackle Club" with the family. SURVIVORS Sons, Thomas Bower Jr. of Muskegon, Jack (Cathy Brege) Bower of Twin Lake, Dan (Patty) Bower of Williams, Minnesota. Daughters, Mary "Cookie" Loyselle of Muskegon, Katie (Gus Zacharias) Bower of Hesperia, and Barbie (Jay) Plecas of Twin Lake. There are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, Siblings, Ruth Monroe, Fred "Mac" McClary, Paula (William) Faulkner, Janet Ross, and sister in law Theresa McClary. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Her parents, her husband of 49 years Thomas Bower Sr., her son Robert "Bob" Bower, and her son-in-law Bryan Loyselle. Her siblings, Mary Lou (Jerry) Sullivan, Leaton "Sonny" (Betty) McClary, Neil McClary, and Roger McClary. Brother-in-laws, Gary "Joe" Monroe and Michael "Pete" Ross. SERVICE Saturday, December 28, 2019, 11:00 AM at Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Pastor Tyrone Conarty officiating.
