Josephine "Jo" Katt

Mrs. Josephine "Jo" (Rozema) Katt, age 91, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008 at a local hospital. She was born May 16, 1917 in Olive Center, Michigan to Leon and Carrie (Knoper) Rozema and lived in the Muskegon area since 1931. On June 8, 1939, she married Ralph Katt in Muskegon, and he survives her. She was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church where she was active in the Women's Bible Study Group. Jo enjoyed reading, belonged to many book clubs and liked to help Ralph with the gardening. SURVIVORS include her husband, Ralph; 3 children, Ruth (John) Humphreys of Whitehall, Vernon (Elaine) Katt of Canton, and Donald (Lori) Katt of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren, Sharon (Dennis) Reso of Plymouth, Janna (Dan) Male of Rockford, Ronald Katt of Harrison Twp., David (Beth) Humphreys of Grand Rapids, and Eric Katt and Jennifer Katt of Muskegon; 3 great-grandchildren, Rachael and William Male and Christopher Humphreys; 2 sisters-in-law, Helen Rozema of Holland and Nellie Herlein of Grand Haven. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Fred and Kenneth Rozema, and 2 sisters, Nora DeYoung and Jeneva Zienstra. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 2, 2008 at Calvin Christian Reformed Church with Rev. John Rop officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Jo's family will be 2-5 PM Sunday at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service, 10-11 AM Monday at the church.
