Mr. Joseph L. VanDyke, age 67, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014. He was born in Muskegon, MI on December 21, 1946 to Jack & Loella (Cooper) VanDyke and served his country in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam Era. Joe married the former Marita Morris on September 16, 1989 and had been employed as a electrician in the IBEW Local Union 275 for which he was very proud. He was a member of American Legion Algot Johnson Post 69, Muskegon Heights Eagles, White Lake VFW Post 3256, Tetra Hall and AMVETS. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Wife of 24 years, Rita; sons, Michael (Abbey) VanDyke, Joseph (Jennifer) VanDyke; step sons, Joe (Melissa) McIntyre, Jim McIntyre; grandchildren, Ethan, Cole, Tessa, Oliver, Eleanor and Joe VanDyke, Nikki McIntyre-Luke, Tim McIntyre, Rachel McIntyre; 4 great grandchildren; parents, Jack & Loella VanDyke; siblings, Sue Smith, Tammy (Jim) Stewart, Trina (James) Gresham, Jack (Sandy) VanDyke; brother-in-law, Joe (Connie) Morris; sister-in-law, Barb Luci; special uncle, David Cooper; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cynthia VanDyke. SERVICE Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 1:00 PM at American Legion Post 69, 803 E. Colby, Whitehall.
