Mr. Joseph A. Slowik, age 73, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012. He was born in Muskegon, MI on October 30, 1938 to Frank & Bertha (Sidock) Slowik. Mr. Slowik had been a career military man and retired from the US Army after 20 years as Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the Muskegon Eagles, liked raising show birds and racing homing pigeons. SURVIVORS Son, Daniel Slowik of Muskegon; daughter, Teresa (Bill) Dixon of Ravenna; grandson, Will Dixon; sisters, Sophie "Sue" Horn of Muskegon, Bernice "Bea" LaNore of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Bonnie in 1998; son, Frank "Junior" in 1969; several brothers and sisters. SERVICE Thursday, February 23, 2012, 11:00 AM and visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Fr. Thomas Brown officiating and Military Honors under the Auspices of the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.
