Joseph Saenz

Mr. Joseph A. Saenz, age 58, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013. He was born in Detroit, MI on December 29, 1954 to Rene & Mary (Perez) Saenz and married the former Adelita Alcala on August 30, 1991. Mr. Saenz had received his Masters Degree from the University of Washington and had been employed as a social worker at the Native American Alesek Agency in Washington State, was on the Board of Education in Detroit, and came to Muskegon to work at the Johnson Cancer Center. Joseph was active in the Escape program through Christ Memorial Church in Holland and was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He was a big sports fan and enjoyed baseball and basketball. His love of music and telling stories will never be forgotten. SURVIVORS Wife of 21 years, Dr. Adelita Saenz; daughters, Gabriela and Ana; brothers, Rene (Luanne) Saenz of Farmington Hills, Gregorio Saenz of Allen Park; sisters, Tina Brighton of Dearborn, Maria Peters of Livonia, Lucila (Patrick) Ryder of Commerce Township. He was preceded in death by his parents. SERVICE Monday, January 28, 2013, 11:00 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Fr. Anthony Pelak officiating.
