Joseph Lenenga

Mr. Joseph R. Lenenga, age 98, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014. He was born in Grand Haven, MI on March 4, 1916 to Albert & Anna (Fiala) Lenenga. He served his country as Captain in the US Army during WWII in the 77th Infantry Division. Joe married the former Joyce Berg on June 25, 1948. They were a favorite couple to many relatives, friends and families. Joe had been a draftsman for Browne-Morse for many years until retiring. He was a member of St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church. As a life member of the Muskegon Elks Lodge, Joe was an avid golfer who also enjoyed playing cards at Oakridge Golf Club. He could still shoot his age until he was 89 years old. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #9. The family would like to thank the wonderful care givers at DaySpring Assisted Living, his lifelong friends & everyone at Russ Restaurant. SURVIVORS Joe is survived by many loving nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce in 1996; siblings, Ruth Brozek (twin sister), Ethel Johnson, Marion Eggert and Edwin Lenenga. SERVICE Per his wishes, no services will be held. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery. MEMORIAL: Mercy VNS & Hospice Services.
